Another great product by M-Audio in the Studiophile series is the Studiophile BX5a Deluxe edition active monitor set. It has the value you’d expect from M-Audio’s home recording range and the clarity, features and power you’d expect from something a little more up-market.

The BX5a Deluxe edition updates the older BX5a monitors with several enhancements. The design has been overhauled with an attractive new case design, the circuitry has been bought up to date which includes a new low-frequency transducer for well-defined bass and a new custom amp has been added to integrate the high and low frequencies better.

The drivers are constructed from Kevlar, which as I have posted before, is a fantastic material for this application with it’s thermal and mechanical resilience.

The BX5a Deluxe is also bi-amped, which is a nice touch to power the high end and low end independantly which reproduces all frequencies across the spectrum a lot more accurately.

As standard, bass ports, magnetical sheilding, XLR and TRS inputs and cool blue indicator lights on the front of the units.
